The Media Buyer + Planner is responsible for developing media plans, buying and negotiating media buys, tracking success, presenting and managing the implementation plan tactics ranging from Paid Search (SEM), Programmatic, Geo-Fencing, Direct Mail, Online Video, Experiential, Affiliate, Display, Email, Social Web, Billboard, TV, and Radio. This position is also responsible for building monthly reports using Google Analytics, media report results, and Cubic's dashboard reporting tool. To be successful in this role, you should have a solid understanding of media advertising, marketing, and how to best leverage these in a digital and traditional environment. If you have previous Marketing experience building effective media strategies, we would like to meet you.


  • Develop media and marketing plans to include traditional, digital, and non-traditional media placements.
  • Research and negotiate media placements with third-party vendors.
  • Optimize advertising strategies for varying audiences and channels.
  • Design and review advertising budgets in collaboration with the Account Executive and Director of Digital Strategies.
  • Analyze Google Analytics and media vendor reports. Provide feedback, review opportunities, and develop a report explaining recommendations for the client.
  • Understand brand guidelines and strategic initiatives, setting and communicating expectations, scheduling and organizing resources, managing deliverables and meeting deadlines.
Develop and maintain a media marketing calendar for client projects.
  • Work cross-departmentally to gather assets, business requirements, marketing goals, and objectives. 

  • Stay current with best practices, strategies, and industry standards.
  • Establish, maintain, and expand the client/agency relationship keeping an eye out for future business opportunities.
  • Periodically reviewing clients’ business with a view towards identifying business needs.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of the client’s business and products.
  • Manage relationships with third-party online marketing vendors as needed.
  • Vendor research and quotes, as necessary.
  • Client research & industry research, as necessary.


  • Two to Three years of experiencing working in media role where your responsibilities included developing media plans, buying and negotiating media buys, tracking success, presenting and managing the plan tactics.
  • Understanding of concepts/terms and marketing tactics including email, affiliate marketing, paid search (SEM), SEO, display, remarketing pixels, TV rankers, and radio frequency.
  • Must have an understanding of online advertising trends, best practices, and reporting.
  • Understanding of concepts/terms such as HTML, CPC, display URLs, Domain, Alt-tag, Meta Tags, tracking tags, etc.
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient experience with Mac OS environment.
  • Experience using Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Media Planning Tools, and MailChimp a plus.
